Premade pouch machine weighing options decide how accurately your product is filled into each pouch, and they are also one of the biggest factors in the final machine price. On our DZ-400 premade pouch packing machine, you can choose from four options: screw, volumetric cup, liquid pump and 4-head weigher. This page explains what each one does best, so you can pick the right one before requesting a quote.

Premade Pouch Machine Weighing Options Compared
| Option | Best for | Typical accuracy | Relative cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Screw (auger) filler | Fine powders | About ±1–2 g | Mid |
| Volumetric cup filler | Free-flowing granules | Depends on bulk density consistency | Entry |
| Liquid pump filler | Liquids, sauces, pastes | Depends on viscosity | Entry |
| 4-head weigher | Snacks, nuts, irregular or fragile items | Highest of the four | Premium |
1. Screw (Auger) Filler

A rotating screw pushes a controlled amount of powder into the pouch. It is the standard choice for fine, dusty or light powders such as flour, milk powder, protein powder, spices, coffee powder and detergent powder. Accuracy is typically within ±1–2 g, depending on the powder and the fill weight.
Not suitable for: large granules, fragile pieces, or sticky products that clog the screw.
2. Volumetric Cup Filler

A set of cups measures a fixed volume of product and drops it into the pouch. It is simple, fast and cost-effective for free-flowing granules such as rice, sugar, salt, seeds, beans and small pellets.
Keep in mind: because it measures volume rather than weight, the result depends on how consistent your product’s bulk density is. If your product varies in size or moisture, a weigher gives better results.
3. Liquid Pump Filler

A pump doses liquids and semi-liquids directly into the pouch. It is used for juice, oil, sauces, honey, shampoo, and similar products. The pump type is selected according to the viscosity of your product.
Tell us: viscosity, whether the product contains particles, and the filling temperature, so we can recommend the right pump.
4. 4-Head Weigher

A multihead weigher combines weights from several heads to reach the target weight, which gives the best accuracy for products that cannot be dosed by volume: snacks, nuts, dried fruit, candy, frozen items and irregular pieces. It also handles fragile products more gently than a screw or cup.
Trade-off: it has the highest equipment cost of the four options, so it makes the most sense when product giveaway or damage is a real cost for you.
What Affects Dosing Accuracy
Whichever option you choose, real-world accuracy depends on your product as much as on the machine. The main factors are bulk density, particle size, flowability, moisture and stickiness. A powder that clumps in humid weather, or granules that vary in size from batch to batch, will fill less consistently than a uniform, dry product. The target fill weight and pouch size also matter: the smaller the pouch, the more a gram of error counts. For the best recommendation, send us a sample or a clear photo of your product, the target weight per pouch, and your required output per minute.
How to Choose
- Fine powder: screw filler
- Uniform granules, low budget: volumetric cup
- Liquid or paste: liquid pump
- Snacks, nuts, fragile or irregular pieces: 4-head weigher
- Not sure: send us a sample photo and your target pouch weight, and we will recommend an option.
